Commonwealth Grant – 2016

Edge Employment Solutions – $10,000

This Community Grant helped to fund a pre-vocational training program for Job Seekers and workers aged 16 – 20 with a range of disabilities such as autism, down syndrome, vision or hearing impairment, cerebral palsy, learning disabilities, and depression or anxiety. During ten workshops, participants learnt interview and negotiation skills; assertiveness and confidence; anger management; goal setting; time management and more.

The aim through early intervention, is for young people with disability be able to gain meaningful long-term employment and make a positive contribution to the community.
