Diamonds are formed under pressure

The most rewarding part of working for Edge is being able to change people’s lives through the power of employment. Many of our clients need a chance, an opportunity, to get a foot in the door to really flourish. Nine months ago, this was Nat. Edge supported Nat in securing employment as an Administration Officer at Uniting WA.

Uniting WA’s purpose is to inspire people, enliven communities and confront injustice. They work to support individuals and communities to feel valued and connected. Nat’s bright and bubbly personality, maturity, and common sense earned from life experiences made her the perfect fit to work at Uniting WA’s front desk.

When COVID-19 impacted her workplace, instead of caving under pressure, Nat’s ADHD/ADD helped her thrive with the challenges of an evolving role. The multi-tasking ability Nat had developed to keep on top of everything, was now a super-power she used to ‘hold the fort’ by herself.

Nat’s can do attitude and professionalism have made her a fond favourite among her co-workers and helped her quickly earn their respect. The support she receives from her team has made the workplace even better.

By working with people from all walks of life and backgrounds, Nat’s skills and abilities have grown. She lives the ‘paying it forward’ ethos every day.
