Brian doesn’t let his disability hold him back

Brian says having a job has changed his life for the better! He started working at Joondalup Health Campus in 2011, and has been supported by Edge for the past eight years.

Now approaching 10 years’ service, Brian is currently a Food Service Attendant and helps occasionally as a Kitchenhand. During his time at Joondalup Health Campus, the team at Edge have watched Brian grow more confident and positive, which has allowed him to progress into new areas of work.

Brian loves his job for so many reasons; no two days are the same, he has made lifelong friends and importantly, he gets to serve the community. Brian also loves that each day brings a new opportunity. His mantra is: “Don’t let a disability hold you back. If you set your mind to something, you can achieve it.

Over the years, Edge have supported Brian by always staying in touch, knowing what he needed and then offering the best service. In return, Brian values his relationship with Edge, saying, “they have helped build my confidence. I know that I have someone to talk to, and they help me understand how I can improve. It’s amazing support, the staff are very friendly and always give me the time of day. I really could not thank them enough for their support.”
