Poppy thrives at work experience

At a visit to Officeworks with her father, Poppy took the initiative and inquired if they had any work experience opportunities. Edge then worked with Officeworks to ensure Poppy had the employment support she needed.

“My Employment Support Coach is always there to help me talk about anything that causes me to stress or worry within the workplace and to help talk through and solve problems,” said Poppy. “She attends sessions with me to help with any new tasks and provides support in continuing to be confident with working independently. She also provides advice on what to do during stressful situations. It helps to talk through any issues with her that may happen in the workplace.”

Poppy really enjoys the team members and teamwork involved in her work experience and the happy and friendly environment at Officeworks.

Her work includes some customer service and ensuring everything is organised on shelves and presented nicely.

“Holly has provided good assistance at work and supporting me with accessing public transport to and from Officeworks and home. She is kind and caring and at work so I can work independently, but when I need help she is there for me.”
