For anyone. For everyone.

Mental Health First Aid teaches you the skills you need to help someone you are worried about.

Potentially one of the most important conversations you may have could be with someone facing a mental health crisis or problem. This is why it is important for you to know how to handle your side.

Do

  • Be ready, approachable and engaged
  • Listen without judgement
  • Repeat things back to show you understand
  • Respect the person’s boundaries and right to privacy

Don’t

  • Diminish, downplay or stigmatise the person’s problem or experiences
  • Talk too much or interrupt
  • Try to diagnose the person’s problem
  • Take the person’s negative symptoms, emotions or words personally

Having a mental health conversation is talking one-on-one to someone about a mental health crisis or problem they are experiencing and offering appropriate support.

We are pleased to announce we have recommenced our face-to-face Mental Health First Aid training.

Our Mental Health First Aid courses, which also include online and refresher courses, are facilitated by our Mental Health First Aid Accredited Trainer Dal.
