Two decades of changing lives
Firstly, from every Edge employee, client and employer- thank you and congratulations Mal for 20 years of service with Edge!
Mal has been a valuable, loyal and committed Edge employee for the last two decades. Starting with Edge back in 2002, Mal was working out of the original Edge office on Forrest Street, Subiaco. Since he began, the team has nearly doubled, but Mal’s passion to help others has never wavered.
In his first year as an Employer Consultant, Mal found 33 jobs for people with disability. Since then, he has found, secured and assisted over 580 employment opportunities. On that journey, he has spoken to thousands of people trying to open doors for others in every thinkable industry.
He has held several roles including Operations Manager of Job Search. Mal was integral in the implementation and a driving force in a number of programs including Employment Choice and SWEAT, which Edge’s current Charged Up for Work program is derived from.
An unimaginable number of kilometres have been travelled by Mal servicing his clients, especially when he visited all his clients at their homes. The number of lives that Mal has directly and indirectly impacted for the better is incomprehensible.
Every day, Lee (Regional Manager of Joondalup and East Victoria Park) sees firsthand the impact Mal has had on so many, “I have worked with Mal for over 13 years and he has been integral to who I have become as a leader, an advocate and a person.

Mal is a very much loved Father and Grandfather outside of the work environment, but also a loved figure inside Edge, with sage advice to the countless number of staff who have walked through the doors of Edge over the past 20 years. Congratulations on 20 years making a difference.”
