Turning his passion for cars into a career

Oliver, like many job seekers with a disability, was having trouble in his search for employment. That was until his parents encouraged him to sign up with Edge Employment Solutions.
Teaming up with his NDIS Consultant, Aaron, they worked on understanding Aaron’s passions to find potential positions that could align with them.

Reliable, motivated and goal-driven, Aaron’s passion for the automotive industry was clear, with a keen interest in becoming an Auto Electrician.

Having already completed a pre-apprenticeship, he’d done the groundwork.

After cold canvassing for potential positions, Aaron found a Trades Assistant position at Russ Gracie Auto Electrics in Bayswater, only 5 minutes from Oliver’s home. With Edge’s support with resume building, improving interview skills and applying, Oliver successfully secured the position.

Starting his new job in January, it took less than 6 months for Oliver’s hard work and dedication to shine through, resulting in him being offered an Auto Electrician Apprenticeship, which he started on July 1st.

For Oliver, finding employment in something he is passionate about fills him with a sense of accomplishment.

With a supportive and helpful team behind him, who take the time to teach him properly, he’s enjoying learning new tasks, building his skill set and working towards his dream.

With Edge’s ongoing support, there’s no limit to what Oliver can achieve as a future Auto Electrician, and we look forward to helping him achieve his career aspirations.
