Spot Christopher at Leopard Lodge

Christopher is currently in Year 12, and began his journey with Edge when his school reached out to us. At Christopher’s first Edge meeting, he was introduced to our Employer Consultant, Jade. “Christopher inspired me so much at our first appointment. We then met regularly, and he continued to impress me over the following weeks, making it crystal clear what kind of job I needed to help him find.” As you can see, Edge’s Employer Consultants play a crucial role in understanding and getting to know each of our clients to match and assist them in finding suitable employment.

Displaying a passion for cooking, Christopher shared that nothing would stop him on his journey to becoming a chef. This perseverance and dedication, which Jade spotted immediately, encouraged her to reach out to the beautiful establishment of Leopard Lodge in Carabooda. The owners, Theresa and Mark, provide a very personable experience through their South African cuisine. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted and taken on an authentic and beautiful South African experience.

Once they met Christopher, Theresa and Mark were enthusiastic to employ him as a Kitchen hand. In the short time he has been in the role, he has grown in confidence and become more independent. For Christopher, working with a supportive business is crucial, “I love that my employer is kind and supportive, and will help if I am having trouble with something. I also love that my job has different tasks and I really like working with my colleagues.”

Christopher has inspired us by demonstrating we should all follow our dreams. At the same time, we are grateful to Mark, Theresa and the Leopard Lodge team for supporting Christopher’s journey.
