Positive future

We are pleased to give you an update on Max, one of our Charged Up for Work graduates. We first shared Max’s story with you 18 months ago. You may remember while he was at school, Max was referred to our Charged Up for Work program to help him transition from high school to the workplace. He graduated from the program in Term 1 2021 and began part-time employment with Programmed.

Our Business Development Manager Daniel worked with Programmed’s Brooke Rabe (Client Relations and Communications Manager) for Max to begin a Traineeship. Max began his Traineeship in February and with the support of his Edge Job Coach Luke, Max recently completed his Certificate III in Business Administration.

“Luke and Edge have helped me a lot. Mostly getting into the program and also the feedback they give me about how I have been doing makes me feel like I can keep going. Luke always says I have a smile on my face and gives positive feedback. I feel really supported. Edge and Luke help me know that I am not alone in this.

Without Edge, I probably wouldn’t be here as they had the relationship with Programmed. Edge liaises with me, my school, parents, VET Coordinator and my Manager- they make sure everyone is on the same page.”

Max has loved his role at Programmed, “I like that my work is related to my level of skills and knowledge. I also have good two-way communication with my boss Brooke.”

We are thankful to supportive managers like Brooke who help support and provide opportunities for people with disability. When we asked Brooke about her time working with Max and Edge, she responded, “Max has been an absolute pleasure to work with. He arrived each day with the biggest smile, eager to learn and dedicated to every aspect of his role. I am proud of the progress he has made and believe he will continue to learn and grow and become a valuable asset to any business.

Working with Edge Employment Solutions along with Job Coach Luke has enabled Programmed to be successful in achieving a high-level traineeship for a young employee. We look forward to continuing our relationship in bringing young and bright students into the workplace.”

At Edge, we pride ourselves on the relationships and partnerships we form with businesses in Perth. Without these relationships, we would not be able to work with these organisations to provide various opportunities and experiences for our clients.

We look forward to working with Programmed in the future and more organisations to continue changing lives through the power of employment.
