Martin hopes one day to pay off his mortgage

One of the clients we provide ongoing support for is Martin, who contacted Edge at the beginning of 2013. Now, 12 years on, we are proud to say that Martin is still an employee at Ramsay Health Care Joondalup Campus.

Martin is adding value to his team as a Hygiene Officer with his Team Leader, Anjam Gupta.

“Martin is a valued team member and brings everyone together. He has the right skillset and the right mix for the job,” is how Anjam describes Martin.

Martin’s life has changed thanks to his job. “Having an income means I have been able to buy a car and can pay off our mortgage, so one day my wife and I will own our house.” Martin receives weekly support from his Job Coach Kim who Martin says, “If I have problems, I can talk about them with my support worker who will help me find a solution.”

Kim can also see the value he is adding to the team saying, “the team Martin works with are always giving me feedback about what a great person he is and how hard he works.” Martin is a ‘Train the Trainer’ which is a testament to the great work he has been doing over the last 12 years. “He is always called upon to train new team members which he enjoys.”
