Life changing employment
“Finding employment has changed my life mentally and physically. It has given me something to do, motivates me to be a better person and to go to work every day no matter how hard it gets.”
Jasmine graduated from our work preparation training program, Project Employment, after being referred by her school. Since then, we have supported and celebrated Jasmine’s growth and development on her employment journey into her current role as an Aged Care Trainee at Amana Living.
“It challenged me to be independent by walking to and from work. The money is also a motivation as well, seeing that lovely paycheck every fortnight is amazing, but I save most of my money and put the rest towards my driving lessons,” shared Jasmine.
The opportunity at Amana Living came a year ago when Edge Business Development Manager, Daniel and Team Leader, Chloe presented this opportunity to Jasmine. Since then, Jasmine has shown incredible growth and commitment and was transferred into Edge’s NDIS Service to receive further support through her NDIS plan.
“Edge makes me feel valued and have been very supportive, they have made me feel confident in myself. They have always encouraged me to go to work and always to try my best, and be as independent as I can be,” said Jasmine.
As she continues on her exciting career path, Jasmine is supported weekly by Chloe, “Chloe has helped me make a handover word sheet to help me with my spelling. Chloe always goes above and beyond for me when I need her, she is always available and I am grateful for her hard work.”
Through her NDIS plan, Jasmine is also supported by NDIS Employment Support Coach Fiona, “Fiona has helped me build my confidence up to speak to my manager about my concerns, I am grateful for what Fiona has done for me.”
At Edge, our commitment to supporting people with disability on their employment journey is embodied by stories like Jasmine’s.
