Joel’s journey

“The support from Edge has increased my confidence to move out of the family business and stand on my own two feet.”

Joel’s journey began with our Project Employment workplace preparation program. After completing the program, Joel transitioned to our Disability Employment Service, where he was supported in finding a role as a Maintenance Yardman, and has been loving his role ever since.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to learn new skills and get my forklift ticket,” shared Joel.

The position has significantly impacted Joel’s life, providing him with the opportunity to gain independence and meet new people. “This position has given me the opportunity to find my own feet and meet new people. It has also given me the exposure to a new industry and environment.”

Joel acknowledged the role Edge has played in his career so far. “I have been made to feel well supported. If any problems occur, I know I can contact my Job Coach that liaises with my employer about the situation.”
