Gaining skills and an opportunity
“I have been in this role for a few months, and my Employment Support Coach at Edge helped me gain volunteer work. In the earlier stages, David [Employment Support Coach] helped me with my problem-solving. They have helped me perform my working tasks better,” said Cameron.
After seeking Edge’s support on his employment journey, Cameron secured a position as a volunteer at Hay Animal Farm and Rescue. Assisted by the Edge team through his NDIS plan, Cameron received support to get job-ready and find a role that he truly enjoys.
Cameron’s role involves feeding animals, grooming horses and keeping the farm tidy. It is clear that Cameron’s position is more than a job; it has been life-changing. “It has given me independence,” shared Cameron.
He also expressed his enjoyment of working with animals, “I like saying hello to the horses and taking them for a walk.” Cameron also appreciates his employer, sharing, “she trusts us to do our job.”
With the support of his employer and the Edge NDIS team, Cameron has made a successful transition into a fulfilling role. We wish him all the best as he continues his employment journey!
