Edge Employer Awards 2018
We are creating a new kind of future.
A future where people of all abilities contribute meaningfully to every part of life. A future where everyone has the opportunity to secure and maintain fulfilling work. Diverse workforces are vital for the world to evolve, and people with disabilities have skills businesses need for this evolution to occur. Diversity empowers businesses to innovate and create more meaningful experiences for their customers.
At Edge, we exist to build an inclusive and accepting society through the power of employment. Through doing so, more and more Job Seekers will have the opportunity to contribute their unique gifts and talents across a variety of sectors, businesses and organisations.
Last week we celebrated Perth’s leading Employers who have made a significant commitment to disability employment at the Annual Leading Edge Employer Awards. Emcee Tim Gossage took us on a journey into the world of one of our Workers Toby, a valued Employee at Southern Cross Austereo 92.9 and we were proud to recognise a number of businesses who have been working with us to create better futures for people with disabilities.
This year’s winners are:
- Large Business – St John of God Health Care
- Extra Mile – Southern Cross Austereo
- New Employer – Decina
- Medium Business – Sunpalm
- Small Business- Western Edge Landscaping
- Government – Water Corporation
- Edge advocate – Evan Cocks from Soft Landings
Research shows that businesses thrive when their Employees are representative of the customers they serve. Diversity empowers businesses to innovate and create more meaningful experiences for their customers. Gina Hogan, Southern Cross General Manager has seen this first hand with Toby, sharing:
“It’s important we have a workplace that is a realistic reflection of the community we live in. Building a diverse and inclusive team benefits everyone – Employee, company and community. Toby is an asset to our team and it’s a pleasure to see him shine.”
As we embark on another year, we look forward to partnering with more and more businesses in Western Australia enabling them to experience the power of diversity in the workplace.
