Creating opportunities for success

The second term of Charged Up for Work has begun with two new cohorts of students in Joondalup and Subiaco. The team are excited to work with these new students to improve their practical employment skills that will provide a foundation for their transition into working life.

After the students have completed the seven week work preparation training program, they will be provided with individualised support to pursue their chosen careers. Recently, Charged Up for Work Consultant Alan worked in collaboration with student Jamie to secure an opportunity in the form of a work trial. This trial turned into Jamie securing a casual position at Dome Warwick.

Work experience and work trials are great opportunities for students to explore different roles to ensure a good fit for both student and employer. We understand the importance of their first experiences in employment being positive. The team work with each individual through this process as we help build their skills.

Jamie’s confidence has increased as a result, and it has been exciting for the team to watch him grow. Edge would like to congratulate Jamie for beginning TAFE this year and they are looking forward to supporting him on his journey to independence.
